Getting your First Apartment?

Listen I'm going through a lot as a 16 year old & I honestly cant even wait until i turn 18 ! but unfortunately i have to wait.. But Anyways what are somethings u need to have your own apartment at the age of 18? All I know is about a bank account but why?
